Residential/Commercial AV Technician

- Installing audio, video, automation, networking, surveillance, and lighting control systems in residential and commercial environments.
- Reading and following project documentation, wiring diagrams, and installation plans.
- Running, terminating, testing, and labeling low-voltage cabling, including Cat6 cable, coaxial cable, and fiber optic cable.
- Installing and configuring wired and wireless network equipment.
- Assisting with system setup, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Participating in all phases of installation, including pre-wire, trim-out, equipment installation, and final system testing.
- Maintaining organized job sites, vehicles, tools, and inventory.
- Communicating effectively with project managers, team members, and clients.
- Troubleshooting technical issues and helping ensure systems perform as designed.
- Participating in ongoing training and certification programs to expand your technical knowledge and career opportunities.
- 1–4 years of experience in AV, low-voltage, networking, electrical, or related technology installations.
- Strong interest in technology and a willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Understanding of signal flow, structured cabling, and proper termination practices.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows operating systems.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to lift equipment, work on ladders, and perform physical installation tasks.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field.
- Industry certifications such as CEDIA CIT, CEDIA IST, CompTIA Network+, or similar credentials.
- Experience with Control4, Lutron RadioRA, Lutron HomeWorks, Josh.ai, or comparable systems.
- Experience with D-Tools SI or D-Tools Cloud.
- Networking experience including routers, switches, and wireless access points.
