Job Description & Daily Duties
Picture this: You spend your days surrounded by the latest technology, collaborating with a dynamic team that values creativity and ingenuity. As an Audio/Visual Technician at IQ Automation, you will:
- Install state-of-the-art audio/visual equipment in residential and commercial settings, delivering top-tier results.
- Follow detailed instructions and diagrams to set up sophisticated systems, transforming spaces into smart environments.
- Master the art of running and terminating various types of cabling (coaxial, category 6, fiber optic) with precision and flair.
- Configure residential wired and wireless networks, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Dive into programming and installing innovative automation, lighting, and surveillance systems that wow our clients.
- Be actively involved in different project phases, from prewire to final installation, ensuring seamless execution and client delight.
- Keep our tools, equipment, and work areas organized, ready for action, and always on point.
- Engage in exciting training sessions to continuously sharpen your technical skills and expand your product knowledge.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, ensuring projects are completed on time and exceed expectations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, becoming the hero our clients can count on.
Specific Requirements
- 1-4 years of experience in residential/commercial systems installation, programming, and service.
- A strong desire to learn and a passion for technology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A solid understanding of signal flow, cabling practices, and proper termination standards for coaxial, category 6, and fiber optic cabling.
- Proficiency in Windows 10/11, Visio, and Microsoft Office products.
- A current valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Optional Requirements
- An associate or bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field.
- Relevant certifications such as CEDIA CIT/ITS, CompTIA Network+, or industry-standard network certification.
- Experience with Control 4, Lutron RRA, HomeWorks, or similar systems.
- Josh A.I. certification
- D-tools SI/Cloud experience
