Job Title: System Designer for Home Automation in Sarasota, Florida.

Job Description:
As a System Designer for Home Automation, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing cutting-edge home automation systems to enhance comfort, convenience, security, and energy efficiency for residential properties. You will collaborate with clients, engineers, architects, and technicians to develop customized solutions tailored to the specific needs and preferences of homeowners. Your responsibilities will encompass various stages of the design process, from initial conceptualization to final installation and testing.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Client Consultation: Engage with clients to understand their requirements, preferences, and budget constraints. Conduct thorough assessments of the existing infrastructure and technology integration possibilities within the home.
  2. System Design: Utilize your expertise in home automation technologies to develop comprehensive system designs that encompass lighting control, HVAC systems, security systems, entertainment systems and other connected devices. Ensure seamless integration and interoperability among different components.
  3. Technical Specifications: Prepare detailed technical specifications, schematics, and blueprints outlining the layout, wiring diagrams, equipment placement, and connectivity requirements for the home automation system.
  4. Product Selection: Research, evaluate, and select appropriate hardware, software, and peripherals from various vendors to meet project requirements while considering factors such as functionality, reliability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  5. Collaboration: Work closely with the SmartHouse team and related architects, interior designers, electricians to coordinate the implementation of home automation systems during the construction or renovation phase. Provide guidance and support to ensure proper infrastructure is in place to support the integration of smart technologies.
  6. Stay Updated: Keep abreast of SmartHouse’s vendor partnerships and emerging trends, advancements, and best practices in home automation technology, industry standards, and regulatory requirements to continuously enhance the quality and innovation of our offerings.

Qualifications:
  • Advanced degrees or certifications in home automation, IoT, or systems integration are a plus.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing home automation systems, including proficiency with industry-leading technologies and platforms (e.g., ELAN, Lutron).
  • Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills with a deep understanding of networking, protocols and programming languages relevant to home automation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions that meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and adapt to changing requirements in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for innovation and a commitment to staying at the forefront of the home automation industry.

Compensation: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
