Lead A/V and Low-Voltage Technician

Job Summary:
Arizona Sound & Light is looking for an expert low voltage systems integration technician with both project and people leadership experience.  We are looking for someone who has many years of experience as a commercial and/or residential A/V and electronic systems integrator.  This is not an IT job, an electrician job or a cable TV job.  You must be an expert in A/V, cameras, networks and automation/control systems. 

The ideal candidate will work both independently and with other installers in the installation, setup and completion of complex audio-video and other high-tech low-voltage electronic systems.  The candidate will be responsible for leading various commercial and residential low-voltage electronic systems integration projects.  They will also be responsible for the timely completion of daily procedures and paperwork, as well as supervision and training support of junior technicians.  This person is also responsible for care and maintenance of their assigned vehicle.

  • Should possess excellent problem-solving skills - ability to "think on the fly"
  • Ability to create and execute in the field solutions
  • Mastery of hand and power tools
 
Key Job Responsibilities & Desired Knowledge:
  • Complete complex audio/video installation projects, including setup, calibration and client training
  • Control system installation (control/lighting/shading) 
  • Advanced troubleshooting of simple and complex systems
  • Advanced networking/data system design, installation, and setup
  • Complete programming of advanced systems using Control4, Lutron, Crestron, Q-SYS
  • Support of legacy and/or third-party products and systems
  • Complete understanding of multi-room systems and setup
  • Complete understanding of conference room systems and setup
  • Advanced understanding of security system programming and design
  • Certified in one more control systems (Q-SYS/Lutron/Crestron/Control4)
  • CEDIA ESTIII, Control4 Tech 2, Q-SYS Level 2 and/or other equivalent industry certifications
  • Completion of Alarm.com Academy
 
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly detailed, organized, and multitask-driven
  • Proficient in all senior-level qualifications
  • Assist in training and evaluation of up to senior-level technicians
  • Excellent skills with desktop and mobile computing
  • Clean driving record and background check (required for DCJS certification)
  • Minimum of 5 years of field experience, with at least 3 years as a Lead Technician
  • Strong recommendations from previous employers.  If you were ever fired, this job is not for you!
