This is a hands-on role perfect for anyone looking to gain experience in the rapidly growing world of smart home automation, high-end audio/visual systems, and residential networking.

The Role at a Glance

  • Schedule: 3 days per week (Flexible scheduling available), 7:30 AM - 4 PM

  • Duration: May through August.

  • Pay: $22/hr.

What You’ll Do

Working alongside a Senior Technician, you will help build out the technology "brain" of high-end homes.

  • Physical Installation: Help with the "pre-wire" phase—pulling wire, snaking cables, and installing rough-in boxes for custom projects.

  • Smart Home Setup: Assist in installing home theaters, distributed audio, lighting/shade controls, and security/CCTV systems.

  • Networking: Help deploy and test routers, switches, and Wireless Access Points (WAPs).

  • Professional Standards: Maintain a clean, organized company van and work with extreme care inside luxury residential properties.

  • Collaboration: Communicate effectively with our team, clients, and other onsite trades (electricians, designers, etc.).

Requirements

  • Active Environment: Ability to work on construction sites, handle various weather conditions, and lift heavy objects.

  • Heights: Comfortable working from ladders, scaffolds, and aerial work platforms.

  • Flexibility: Willingness to work overtime to meet project deadlines and occasionally travel to job sites outside the local area for a few days.

  • Professionalism: You must be polite, well-spoken, and have a customer-first attitude.

Qualifications

  • Tech-Inclined: You don’t need to be an expert, but you should be enthusiastic about technology and quick to learn new software.

  • Digital Literacy: Comfortable with email, spreadsheets, and basic word processing.

  • Organized: Detail-oriented with the ability to follow SDC Standards and Practices.

Why Join Us This Summer?

  • Skill Building: Learn a specialized trade in high-end home integration.

  • Flexible Schedule: Great for those looking for consistent part-time work without a 5-day commitment.

  • Expert Mentorship: Work directly with senior techs who know the industry inside and out.

Compensation: $22.00 per hour
